HUGE DAY FOR SCOTCHIES!

The A-Team keep winning as they defeated Old Wesley at St Kilda Road by 30 runs and the Celebrities bounce back with a huge bonus win over Melbourne Uni at Scotch College. It was a weekend to savour as young guns lead the regeneration at Old Scotch as both teams look to charge into the finals in good form.

As St Kilda Road, Sam Shearer won the toss as his charges racked up an impressive 6/195 on Wesley's picturesque St Kilda Road campus oval. Spearheaded by young Nick Shearer who has been progressively stepping out of the shadow cast by his famous cousin, skipper Sam Shearer, Nick Shearer tallied up an impressive 45, with Polkinghorne (35) and Grose (33no) ensuring the Scotchies posted a good total.

195 is competitive in normal circumstances, but at Wesley's St Kilda Road oval which has rather short straight boundaries, it was going to require a great bowling and fielding performance to keep the unbeaten streak alive. And that is exactly what happened, with the A-Team dismissing old Wesley for 165 in the 37th over to secure victory by 30 runs to cement themselves into top spot. Sam Shearer led the way with 3 wickets, but it was even bowling and fielding performance.

The Celebrities batted first at Meares Oval and compiled 7/180, spearheaded by Mitch Sennitt who made a dashing 65. The Scotchies then proceeded to obliterate the Melbourne Uni batting line up, scything through inside 20 overs to record a bonus point victory by dismissing the Varsity boys for 71, with Nick Sparks capturing 5 for 9 including an incredible hattrick.

With both teams on fire, there has never been a better time to come down and get behind the boys attempt to make history.

In the mean time...
