SCOTCHIES VS XAVS OLD FIRM CLASH! ...AND IT'S A TIE!

Harrison Goad was tonight hailed a hero as the young fast bowler dramatically saved the game for the Scotchies versus old Rivals Old Xavs...with the BAT! With two balls of an epic encounter to be bowled and Goad on strike, the Scotchies still needed five runs to win and four runs to tie in a see-sawing clash worthy of it's billing. Everyone on both teams were nervous - except for the cool youngster who casually belted the last two deliveries of the game for two 2s to tie up the score and leave the clash deadlocked.

Earlier, the evergreen Gary Bennett bowled with meticulous accuracy to snare four Xavs batsmen to truncate the Xavs innings at 196 all out, after they had been cruising at 6 for 189. Whitelaw (20 and skipper Murray (34) got the Scotchie run chase off to a steady start. Gilchrist continuing his good form chimed in with 40 and George "Coops" Dick looked to have got the Scotchies home with a hard hitting innings of 71, before he was caught on the boundaryearly in the last over, precipitating a late order collapse before Goad's heroics.
