An inspired innings of 106 not out from Scotchies star batsman Rennie "Gilly" Gilchrist helped secure a dramatic six wicket win against Melbourne Cricket Club at Meares Oval. In union with stand in skipper Matt "Dicko" Dickenson who made a splendid 76, Gilchrist spearheaded the epic run chase to haul in a formidable MCC total of 229 off 40 overs. The Scotchies got home with two overs to spare and Gilchrist was lauded by his appreciative captain and team mates for his heroics with the bat.
