John Stavris

The man. The myth. The legend. It is rather difficult to write with any objectivity about Johnny "Stava" Stavris, because so many stories abound about the great man that obfuscate the true picture. Indeed, it is impossible to verify fact from fiction, rumour from innuendo and whether stories have been embellished for effect, or are an accurate reflection of the cold hard truth. What is irrefutably known is that Johnny Stavris is a wildman with limited inhibitions once he has drunk copious amounts of alcohol. His enthusiasm bowling left arm thunderbolts with erratic trajectory for OSCC is only matched by his drunken impersonation of a wild dog dry humping a girls leg when he is out on the town. This all-action superhero cuts a swathe through night clubs around Melbourne and his maniacal socialising somehow escapes the scrutiny of nightclub security in a way us mere mortals never could. On a cricket field, Stava audibly yells out "FAR CANAL" regularly as yet another thunderbolt passes down the legside. But this obsession Stava has with this aspect of civil engineering is somewhat obscure as the man himself actually studies Law at Deakin. Johnny Stavris is an all round top bloke that is the heart and soul of the OSCC. Get around him before the man implodes!
